The Therapist Station serves as the control hub for the healthcare professional, enabling them to manage the VAST.Rehab system, oversee patient progress, and create customized therapy plans. Here’s what you need to get started:
1. Operating System: Windows 10 or 11. This ensures compatibility with the latest VAST.Rehab updates and features.
2. Processor: Intel i3 CPU 8th generation or better. This level of processing power will ensure smooth operation of the VAST.Rehab software.
3. RAM: 8GB or more. This amount of memory allows for efficient multitasking and data processing.
4. Screen: While not strictly necessary, a touchscreen is recommended for ease of navigation within the VAST.Rehab system. The size of the screen would depend on individual preference and the nature of the tasks being performed.
5. Form Factor: Both a laptop and a desktop computer are suitable options for the Therapist Station, depending on the flexibility and space requirements. Laptops provide portability, while desktops might offer more power and upgradability.
When configuring the Patient Station for VAST.Rehab, there are several important hardware requirements and recommendations based on the method of therapy - Strong PC, Standard PC, and VR (Meta Quest 2).
1. Strong PC (for 3D full body tracking)
For advanced 3D full body tracking therapy, your setup should consist of:
- Operating System: Windows 10 or 11
- CPU: Intel i5 8th gen or better
- RAM: 8GB or more
- GPU: NVidia RTX 2060 or better, or NVidia GeForce 1660 Ti or better
- Display: A TV (40 inches or larger is recommended)
- Stereolabs ZED 2 camera
2. Standard PC (for 2D full body tracking, elastic resistance devices, balance platforms)
For standard tracking methods and other therapeutic tools, a more conventional PC configuration would suffice:
- Operating System: Windows 10 or 11
- CPU: Intel i5 8th gen or better
- RAM: 8GB or more
- GPU: Integrated or any dedicated graphics card that is comparable or better than NVidia GeForce 1050
- Display: A TV (40 inches or larger is recommended)
While a dedicated graphics card is not essential for these devices, having one could future-proof your system.
For VR therapy, VAST.Rehab is compatible with the standalone Meta Quest 2 VR headset, which means no PC is required. The necessary components include:
- The Meta Quest 2 VR headset
- A strong and stable WiFi connection
Room and Space Requirements
No matter the method of therapy, a safe and clear space is required to perform VR exercises comfortably and safely. A room size of approximately 3x3 meters is recommended for both 2D and 3D full body tracking. This will help ensure there is ample space to perform a wide range of movements without any risk of accident or injury.
Lastly, make sure your network connection is strong and stable across all Patient Stations, to ensure a smooth, lag-free therapy experience.
